French watch brand Jean Deoret - like this 1960’s-era dress watch here – is a mystery, mostly lost to the time before the interwebs. It was a sold mainly in France and saw limited distribution outside the country.
This Jean Deoret puts many watches from the same era to shame with its superb finish, dial and vibrant colors – to include blue and red outer dial accents orange, which nicely play off the cream-colored dial itself, and numeral fonts which scream of the Mad Men-esque 1950s era – all of which bring a pop of color to your day and invites attention from the casual onlooker.
With the patina’d lume on the stick hands of this dress watch, and a styleishly designed dial, there’s more than enough visual contrast going on here to make the watch engaging. Couple this with a well-designed Maruman stainless-steel bracelet and you have an excellent vintage dress watch, sans the high price point witnessed in similar watches of the era.
This Jean Deoret comes with a Maruman stainless-steel bracelet, nylon NATO strap, Pelican travel case, and springbar tool.
