Seiko M-77 Automatic Dress Watches
Seiko used a variety of marine life icons to describe and identify the waterproofness of a specific watch or collection of watches, but perhaps none leave as many questions for collectors as Seiko’s Sea Lion variants.
Often attached to the Weekdater line, and considered by some to be a close relative of the Seikomatic family, little definitive information exists about this particular subset of vintage Seikos.
However, many of these automatic watches use some of Seiko’s more impressive calibres, and are most often seen inside dressier Seiko watch styles, always day/date models.
The Masters and Johnson Research Team
The Masters and Johnson research team pioneered research into the nature of human sexual response and the diagnosis and treatment of sexual disorders and dysfunctions from 1957 until the 1990s.
They jointly wrote two classic texts in the field, Human Sexual Response and Human Sexual Inadequacy, published in 1966 and 1970 respectively. Both of these books were best-sellers and were translated into more than thirty languages.
Both were the focus of a Showtime television series called Masters of Sex based on the 2009 biography by author Thomas Maier. Per Variety, "In cable TV terms, “Masters of Sex” feels like a triumph of concept and casting even before you get to the perfectly entertaining series birthed out of those two well-devised elements. Revisiting 1950s sexual mores through the pioneering research of Masters & Johnson, the show (derived from a book by Thomas Maier) features Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan in the central roles, while providing legitimate cover for lots of explicit a-big-reason-we-pay-for-Showtime sex and nudity."
