During the 1970's Heuer sold many stopwatches like Trackmaster and Trackstar, while also making the same stopwatches available to a variety of other companies - like this vibrant red Sears Trackmaster Ref. 19925, 1/10th second mechanical stopwatch, with its original Sears box and lanyard.  This Sears Trackmaster is virtually identical to the Heuer Ref. 8042.  And just in time for "Formula 1," starring Brad Pitt - the racing circuit that made Heuer famous!

The Sears Trackmaster here features a 1/10 second stopwatch with time-out capability, with a 15-minute register with color-coded special segments - it was available in black, blue, white, chrome, or the red this example wears here.

Trackmaster movements are quite accurate and reliable, with a regulation tolerance of +- 1.5 sec. per hour when new.  Heuer’s sporty Trackmaster line was a departure from its "professional" stopwatches for industry and science applications, which had precision anchor movements (Calibre 7700 series with high frequency 36000 bph, with a regulation tolerance of 0.5 seconds per hour).

Not many of Heuer’s brightly colored Trackmaster stopwatches have survived in new-old stock condition, and the example on offer here is winding and running in as new condition, and all color-coded bands on the pushers are intact (usually the first thing to wear on these Trackmasters).

Heuer launched its Trackmaster line circa 1969, and sold them into the 1980's. However, Heuer mechanical stopwatches, with one notable exception, were no longer emphasized after the early 80's.  Heuer pioneered electronic LCD based stopwatches and sold these aggressively, which effectively ended its stopwatches, such as the Trackmaster here.

This Sears Trackmaster comes on its original lanyard, and with rugged travel case, original Sears box (modeled closely from the Heuer Trackmaster box), and stopwatch lanyard.
