What to say about this amazingly atypical watch, a 1971 Seiko 10-1020 women's pendant mechanical watch?

Many Seiko watches from the 1960’s through the mid-1980’s have rightly gone down as design classics, building a considerable following amongst watch collectors.

Some truly gorgeous watches from the same era produced by the same company have quietly slipped under the radar for the simple reason they were designed for the typically slighter wrist, ie: women.

This watch stands out from even those - it goes around the neck!  Aside from that, the design of the pendant mechanical here follows suit - classic and simple.  And it’s a shame, because many of these smaller watches feature exquisite details – in particular this one, which radiates outward from the watch itself via stainless-steel.

This atypical Seiko 10-1020 comes on its original stainless-steel Seiko necklace, and with rugged travel case.
