Heuer made quite literally hundreds of different and unique stopwatches during its storied history, with one of these being the near new-old stock (NOS) 1980s Heuer Ref. 1000 Microsplit 1/100 Hour/Alarm digital stopwatch here, with its original Heuer box, instructions manual (in multiple languages), and warranty paperwork.
Heuer's Microsplit Ref. 1000 is a compact and multi-functional electronical timer, meant to replace Heuer Ref. 1000G and 1000N. It adds day/date, split functions, and alarm, rendering the Ref. 1000 a "jack of all trades” for professionals or those aspiring to be. Its the two large central square pushers - in red and green - make it easily recognizable.
Eduard Heuer founded the Heuer Watch Company in 1860 in St. Imier, Switzerland. In 1911, Heuer introduced the first automobile dashboard chronograph called the "Time of Trip." This timepiece revolutionized the world of automotive racing because it enabled the pilots and co-pilots to keep track of their lap times. In 1914 they changed the sports world once again with the introduction of the first wrist worn chronograph.
Heuer’s dominance of the stopwatch market continued into the 1970s and 1980s, when electronic stopwatches finally dethroned them. Regardless, Heuer carried on, coming out with their own line of electronic stopwatches - like the Ref. 1000 here.
This Heuer Microsplit comes with its original Heuer-signed lanyard, Heuer box, instructions manual, and warranty paperwork.
